“Zelda and Sophia’s Classroom” is near-complete - at Rays of Light Orphanage School

​Zelda and Sophia’s Classroom is very near completion at Rays of Light Orphanage School.

The classroom is named after the daughters of two very generous contributors to the project. Zelda’s mom - Lutzka Zivny - produced a fundraiser for the cause in San Francisco; Sophia’s mom—Liz Behrens - attended a fundraiser in Piedmont, and handed over a large check.

The classroom seems to be almost done, except for the exterior paint.

Rays of Light Orphanage School has about 275 children in grades PreK-6.

This classroom is its first “permanent” building - it is made of bricks, then stuccoed on the outside. The other classrooms at the school are made of mud and sticks.
