The second Humanist Principle is “Respect Life and property”: Humanist believes people have the right to own lives and the Right to own property.

-In this case Masereka Sebastian read to the children and explained to them how Killing people is bad; that is steals away people’s lives. Killing happens in war and that they must never go to war and not to kill someone who has committed a crime.

He also read and explained to children and teachers on how:

laws must be fair,
people should be kind to animals,
men and women, boys and girls have the right to decide what to do with their bodies,
decision of woman on abortion, right to love and marry, right to divorce,
serious responsibility of mothers and fathers-they must care for their children like feeding, clothing and giving education to the children.
That property needs to be respected, taking care of something you own like “Buhanga chicken farm; Buhanga women and children at Mother Givers need to take care of chicken, work at it and seek to improve it”;
that people have a right not to let their property ruined by pollution.

To summarize; this is the second principle of Humanism, to respect the life and property of others. To let people decide what to do with their lives and bodies and to help others also take care of their lives.

Question asked to children: What are you supposed to do to respect your life and lives of others?
