Projects to Build and Support “Kahendero Humanist Primary School”

Brighter Brains Institute is going to build ANOTHER humanist primary school in Uganda.

This one will be an expansion of the current Kahendero Humanist Nursery School, on the shores of Lake George. This amazing location is just 2.0 kilometers away from BiZoHa Orphanage Humanist School, in the lakeside town of Kahendero. The villagers here have requested that a humanist primary school be built for them, because the only way their children can get to BiZoHa is by crossing a busy highway with fast-moving vehicles.

Our current humanist nursery school is full of little students, and it is anticipated that our humanist primary school will be very popular, because its competition in the region is very weak. The other schools nearby are either closing, or near closing, due to their unpopularity with parents.

Bwambale Robert Musubaho provided BBI with the idea to expand the nursery school, via a unique plan. Instead of raising funds to construct the 4 additional classrooms needed for a primary school - his idea is to petition funds to start businesses that generate funds, that can be spent on the construction.

The four business ideas to generate building funds are:

1. Tourist Boat - to be rented out for scenic viewing of Lake George elephants, hippos, crocodiles, Nile Buffalo, etc

2. Fishing Boat - that sells its catch, generating funds.

3. Eco-Lodges - built of local material, like BiZOHa’s bamboo, with solar lighting. Rented out to tourists

4. Events Hall—rented out to Kahendero residents for weddings, reunions, and special events. The flexible space will also be used for school classrooms, conferences, examinations, concerts, and cinema events. It will be very spacious.

The fantastic benefit of this plan is that the “fundraising” continues after the school classrooms are built, guaranteeing future income to provide school supplies, school lunches, and orphan sponsorships. The projects will also endear the school to Kahendero residents, especially the Events Hall.
