Brighter Brains Institute offers “Why Do We Believe?” workshop

Posted: Sat, December 16, 2017 | By: Atheist Logic

Brighter Brains Institute is offering a 4-hour workshop titled “Why Do We Believe?” to community groups and schools interested in examining how belief systems are formulated.

The e-workbook is also available for FREE to anyone who wants it - just email brighterbrainsinstitute@gmail.com with your request.

The “Why Do We Believe?” workshop explores the multiple - and usually erroneous - ways that people form their opinions, ideas, and beliefs.

The workbook is divided into chapters titled “Family Traditions”, “Indoctrination (religious and political)”, “Indoctrination (cultural)”, “Revelations (inner voice)”, and last-but-most-important “Rationality.”

Quotes from a wide variety of philosophers and thinkers are included in the workbook, with time spent discussing their ideas - Socrates, Sam Harris, the Buddha, Mary Wollstonecraft, Helen Keller, Ayn Rand, Oprah Winfrey, Rumi and many others.

The purpose of the workshop and free booklet is to encourage people to consciously select a belief system that they determined for themselves.

In related news, BBI will soon be collaborating with members of Atheist Alliance International, to promote Critical Thinking.
