Villagers in Buhanga, a tiny village in the Ruwenzori foothills, have finished digging a three-mile long trench to bring water to their thirsty community.
The pipe is now being inserted into the trench that was purchased by Brighter Brains Institute (BBI), via funds received from Darren Muise of Montreal.
Buhanga has no freshwater source, and many in the community (especially children) are often sick from drinking unclean water in stagnant ponds near the village. To remedy this predicament, BBI is helping them put in the 3 miles of pipe to bring fresh water down from higher up on the mountain (via $3,000 in funds from Darren Muise)
The villagers in Buhanga volunteered their labor, to dig this trench and put in the piping.
