Today at the Kahendero Humanist School we held a parents meeting, the second one of its kind since the school opened its doors.

This time, we had a turn up of more than 80 parents which actually matches with our soaring enrollment figures where we are almost clocking 200 pupils.

The meeting was a success, we discussed several issues pertaining the school, academics, projects, successes, threats and misconceptions.

I printed out the Humanist principles for a global rational world, made a mention on the school Foundation of Science & Humanism. Promised to be calling meetings or making visits to people’s homes to make them at par with humanist values so that they are not fooled by religious zealots who utter unfounded, misguided statements about my initiatives.

Mentioned about the Bizoha tractor, the Anna Sanchez Boat and the Bizoha Humanist Center. Talked about the efforts made by individual sponsors and organizations who have supported our initiatives by contributing to the pool of funds adding up to what we collect locally.

I mentioned about the Humanist Hall to be constructed at the Kahendero school shortly.

Some issues discussed included fees payments, issues of meals, uniforms, Teachers salaries, welfare and motivation, the clinic and its services to both the pupil, staffs and locals.

The meeting begun at 2 PM and extended up to 5:30 PM

All in all it was a success, the parents pledged to fulfill their obligations and support more the school. This was the first meeting in the academic year we just begun.

With Science, we can progress.
