Nyakiyumbu Widows Orphanage School—- Letter to Volunteers

Posted: Wed, September 14, 2016 | By: Volunteer

(below is a letter from Nyakiyumbu Widows Orphanage School, sent via email. Volunteers will visit this community in June)

Thanks for bringing volunteers to our school…

…We wish when they visit Nyakiyumbu, they could do like they do in BiZoha orphanage (playing with parachute, paper planes, soccer balls)…

And other exciting games please we welcome them.

If there are lessons related to income generating activities that day, we welcome them so that we learn how we can fight poverty in families and the community at large.

When they come, they should teach healthy related issues, and the value of education in community.

If possible for them that day, we request that they test hepatitis, STDs like Candida, gonorrhea and syphilis and AIDS itself using testing strips.

The women and children are ready to entertain them with performances and plays that day. Some of these will be traditional dance (Ekikibi), and plays.

kindly yours,

Maathe Melchesedik (Secretary of the Nyakiyumbu Widows Association)
