Brighter Brains Institute has been funding the Nyakiyumbu Widows Association for three years.
For most of that time, Nyakiyumbu demonstrated insufficient understanding or interest in humanism.
After BBI’s last inspection in June 2017, we were disappointed with their progress and we considered permanently ending all funding for Nyakiyumbu.
In recent weeks, though - a glorious turn-around has occurred! Nyakiymbu’s new leader - Nyesi - has guided her village into a better understanding of humanism. She is proving to be a wonderful administrator and representative.
Nyesi has given us a January calendar of events - an item we request from all our schools, but is rarely delivered.
Plus, we have received photos of the children holding signs indicating their perception of humanism. There’s also a sign thanking a BBI donor for contributing funds for Nyakiyumbu children to have lunch food at school, and photos of the children eating.
Thank you, Nyesi!
