Mubarak Bala Translates Amsterdam Declaration 2002 for Humanism - into Hausa/Fulani

Mubarak Bala - a leader of Nigerian humanism and a Brighter Brains Institute advisor - recently translated the Amsterdam Declaration 2002 for Humanism into Hausa/Fulani.

Following a successful humanism congress in Lagos, Nigeria a week ago, which gathered delegates from nations across Africa and the U.K., the suggestion was raised to translate the Amsterdam Declaration into more African Languages, due to interest from people across the continent who are moving away from superstition.

Bala responded by translating the declaration into Hausa/Fulani, a language used by about a 100m people in West Africa, from Senegal and Mali to Sudan and south as far as Gabon.

He was assisted by Abu Manzo and Abdul Razi, his humanist elders from the region.

Below is his translation:

“Kaifin tunani, fadadadde shi ya haifar da falsafa, wadda ita kuma ta haifi kimiyya da fasaha.

Tubalan ginin Insaniyya ta wannan zamani dai sun hada da:

1. Insaniyya tana tafiya ne bisa tarbiyya da kirki. Tana jaddada ‘yanci, daraja, da kima ta duk wani mutum.

Dukkan wani ‘yanci wanda bai shiga ko cutar da wani ba, to ya fado cikin hakkokin jama’a, wanda kowa ya kamata ya iya samunsa, ba tare da tsangwama ko cin zarafi ba.

Masu bin akida ta Insaniyya, sun daukarwa kansu nauyin kula da damuwar duk sauran jama’a, da ma wadanda ba’a haifa ba masu zuwa a nan gaba.
