Masika Jenet, orphan at Rays of Light Orphanage School, sponsored by Meredith Newman Debens

Posted: Sun, May 01, 2016 | By: Rays of Light Orphanage School

Meredith Newman Debens - one of Brighter Brains Institute’s most generous donors—has sponsored a girl in the “Baby Class” at Rays of Light Orphanage School.

Masika Janet is the first orphan sponsored in BBI’s goal to get sponsors for the 41 orphans at Rays of Light Orphanage School. Her father’s death is listed as “Poison.” No explanation is given.

Many of the children were rendered parentless due to tragic circumstances. Children on the list of 10 orphans HERE lost parents due to AIDS, civil war, polio, malaria, “fell from tree”, “poachery in National Park” and other calamities that are endemic in this region of Uganda.

Thank you, Meredith, for sponsoring this orphan!
