Joy Women’s Group joins BBI & AfricaWomenRise.org

The Joy Women’s Group has asked Brighter Brains Institute if it can partner with us.

They agree to humanist principles.
The group has 22 members and it started in 2014. It is registered with Nyamwamba division and Kasese district, and is located in Nyamwamba East village.

The group Objectives are .

  • To promote savings and internal lending among the group members
  • To promote conservation of the environment in the community
  • To promote nutrition, health and hygiene practices in the community.
  • To promote children education, life skills and adult literacy in the community.

The group shall work with focus on the following thematic areas:

  • Savings and internal lending
  • Environment conservation
  •  Education, life skills and adult literacy
  •  Health and hygiene

The group is in favor of condom use, family planning, abortion, girls education, women’s rights, and we are very opposed to belief in witchcraft - traditional African religions. The group welcomes condoms to prevent HIV/AIDS and birth control.
