A flourishing edible school gardens are giving in fresh vegetables and fruits supplementing the diet of Kasese Humanist Primary School children, these gardens are acting as outdoor laboratories where our children are taught skills on how to prepare soil, plant, prune, weed and harvest crops. Children are also taught about the various diseases, pests that attack crops plus also highlighting on the food values realized after eating certain foods grown.

This project is an innovation of Masereka Solomon, one of my cherished, focused and hardworking teachers at the school who heads the Kasese Freethinkers Club

Our school is determined to generate all round children who have exposure to attaining several skills in addition to what the Uganda Primary school curriculum states.

Food is very important to generate energy to think, protect our bodies from diseases, body repair and above all we need food in order to live.

At the school, we cherish nature so much as it provides us with all what we need, we embrace science, humanist values and feel proud being members of the homo sapiens (intelligent animals).

Attached are some of the pictures of the crops thriving at KHPS Rukoki Campus.
