A 12-Lesson “Critical Thinking & Humanism” Workshop has been completed—it is going to be utilized in the humanist schools and women’s groups supported by the Brighter Brains Institute.
The 12 lessons are composed of 5 “iDoubt” lessons, designed by Leo Igwe (Nigerian humanist on the BBI Board of Advisors), 5 “why do we believe what we believe” lessons designed by BBI founder Hank Pellissier, and 2 final lessons based on the book Global Ethics: Ten Humanist Principles, by Rodrigue Tremblay.
The initial tryout of the 12 lessons will be at Kanungu Humanist Primary School. The effectiveness of the workshop will be critiqued and changes will be made.
The 12 Lesson plan will also be sent to Nyakiyumbu Widows Orphanage Humanist School, and to Kilembe Women’s Group - two organizations that are presently asking BBI for additional funding. Almost all the humanist organizations that are presently receiving funding from BBI will be asked to educate their faculty and older students with the 12 Lesson Plan. Exceptions to this are Kasese, Kahendero, and BiZoHa schools, and Pearl Vocational Training College - those four schools already have humanist & critical thinking installed, via earlier lessons provided by the Critical Thinking Project, a Canadian group.
