Buhanga Women get their own Website and Facebook Page; need Food for Mother Givers children

Posted: Tue, October 11, 2016 | By: Mother Givers Humanist School

The Buhanga Thuligahuma Women’s Collective of western Uganda has their own website now, at http://buhangawomen.org - the website was given to them by the Brighter Brains Institute so they’d have a higher social media profile, and could promote their own fundraising needs.

There are 38 women in the Buhanga Thuligahuman Women’s Collective; they have successfully uplifted their community by bringing in fresh water, establishing a chicken farm, acquiring a clinic, and improving the local school.

They have also obtained their own Facebook page, due to the assistance of Meredith Newman Debens of Australia, one of their most generous benefactors (she donated funds to build the lovely Future Path Classroom, with the rare-in-the-region white ceiling).

The primary need of the BUhanga Women right now is lunch food for the children at Mother Gives Humanist School, a primary school of 216 kids that’s directed by the Buhanga Women.

Children here generally get only one meal per day (dinner). They don’t receive breakfast, and my lunch time they are too hungry to concentrate on their studies and learn. The Buhanga Women would like to provide them with a school lunch of corn meal, beans, and vegetables.

To feed these hungry children in the rural village of Buhanga, click HERE.
