Brighter Brains Institute will send humanist students to Mbarara University of Science & Technology

Posted: Mon, May 21, 2018 | By: Uganda

Brighter Brains Institute wants to provide scholarships to two humanist students - so they can attend Mbarara University fo Science and Technology.

The two students are Sserugendo Emmanuel and Namanda Fatumah.

Both are excellent scholars recommended by Bwambale Robert Musubaho, the director of humanist schools in Kasese. Emmanuel and Fatumah attended Kasese Humanist Primary School in their lower grades, before transferring to Sir Isaac Newton Humanist School (in Masaka).

Mbarara University of Science & Technology (“MUST”) is ranked one of the Top Three universities in Uganda.

Both Emmanuel and Fatumah will pursue Bachelor of Science degrees. This will qualify them for many vocations in medicine and pharmacy.

Asasira Justus - a new Board member of BBI who is a professor at MUST - is assisting BBI in recruiting the two humanist scholars.

After Sserugendo Emmanuel and Namanda Fatumah are enrolled at the university, they will start a Humanist Club on campus, with Asasira Justus as the faculty advisor.

BBI will be launching a GoFundMe in June to raise funds for the scholarships. The cost of tuition, room & board is approximately $1,500 each, per year. BBI wants the parents of the students to pay part of the cost, but we are determined to raise at least $2,000 for the scholarships.
