Jønathan Lyons MFA, an English Department lecturer at Bucknell University in central Pennsylvania, has recently completed all of his course work for the Brighter Brains HUB Certificate in Transhumanism.

He completed the course work on schedule, with expertise in his assignments.

Lyons is an Affiliate Scholar for the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technology, a transhumanist think tank located in Pennsylvania. His twenty-four essays archived there include papers on personhood, parenting, abolition, enhancement, and analysis of transhumanist ideas represented in fiction.

Here’s a few of the BBI HUB favorites:

“The Hierarchy of Exclusion in “Ender’s Game” — a starting point for thinking about personhood

“Inception: Lucid Dreaming as Radical Life Extension”

“My H+ Shopping List - Six Excellent Upgrade Items Available Now”

“Mindplexing - Cooperative, Shared, Distributed Collaboration between Networked Minds”

Lyons is also a science fiction writer; he authored authored Burn which received the Wordweaving Award for Literary Excellence and authored Machina. His most recent book is Minnows: A Shattered Novel, published by JEF (Journal of Experimental Fiction) Books.

Additionally, he is a member of the Lifeboat Foundation, a transhumanist nonprofit nongovernmental organization dedicated to encouraging scientific advancements while helping humanity survive existential risks . Lyons serves as Advisory Board Member on the Ethics Board, Futurists Board, Human-Nonhuman Relationship Board, Human Trajectories Board, and Philosophy Board.

Brighter Brains HUB is thrilled by the work that Jønathan has done. We believe he has much to offer in the future as a researcher, writer, thinker, and teacher of transhumanist topics.
