Bob Pellissier, one of BBI’s most generous donors, has contributed $425 to a humanist dance troupe at Pearl Vocational Training College.
The donation will enable Pearl One Life Entertainment to buy: two pairs of traditional dance costumes, one pair of modern dance costumes; repair the team’s small sound system and pay a dance trainer for two months.
The group is looking forward to starting “humanist dances and thematic songs” and they look forward to raising more money to buy a good sound system with performance microphones; make advertisements for our services; buy a set of traditional drums and Madinda (Xylophone) and sustain a trainer for the next four months.
The team is composed of 14 members who include 12 young ladies (7 of them un-married mothers below 20 years) and two young men.
The team will spread critical thinking messages and tackle retrogressive and oppressive cultural and religious practices through thematic dances and songs and generate income to sustain the members.
