Karen Zelevinsky - President of the Brighter Brains Institute—successfully raised $1,300 funds via a crowdfunding campaign on Facebook.
The money will be spent on tuition and room & board at Mbarara University for Science and Technology (MUST)—for one year—for Fatumah Namanda, a double-orphan girl who previously attended Kasese Humanist Primary School and Sir Isaac Newton Humanist Secondary School.
Fatumah is raised by her grandmother, who does not have funds to send her to college. BBI is very happy to assist with this. BBI is also going to be raising funds to send a boy scholar to MUST.
The process was greatly helped by Asasira Justus, a professor at MUST who is on the Brighter Brains Institute’s Board of Directors.
The photo below shows a smiling Fatumah, with her grandmother and Asasira Justus.
