Brighter Brains Institute has launched a “BiZoHa Women’s Empowerment Group” in the small town of Muhokya, near Kasese. Funds were provided by the David Thompson Fund.

The women’s association is directed by Ngabirwe Phiona, the head teacher at the nearby BiZoHa Orphanage Humanist School. Many of the women in the group are teachers at BiZoHa.

The office is in the newly constructed BiZoHa Humanist Centre.

The BiZoHa Women’s Empowerment Centre will offer lectures on humanism, feminism, microfinance, and preventing domestic violence. Additionally, it will provide sewing classes, taught on three sewing machines that BBI provided funds for.
