The bamboo forest is steadily growing at the Kasese Humanist Botanical Gardens Property. Those who think money is from the waters, great shame. Most importantly Knowledge is wealth. Going green is the way to go and together we can make this world a better place for humanity and everything in it.
I am steadily working on the Bamboo Project at my Kilembe Road property where i have so far planted over 400 shoots now of bamboo shoots. Most of the Bamboo i have on site was got from a residence of my friend in Kilembe from the yellow variant while the other surprisingly was got just next to Bizoha Humanist Nursery School in Kahendero.
I am however working with a colleague to get some other bamboo varieties from the Uganda Wildlife authority to spice up the artificial Bamboo forest. Going green and ensuring sustainable land use of the rather wetland zone is one of my hobby.
Am looking at this forest to favor me in my ambitions of easily creating a safari lodge at my other property in Lyemibuza overlooking Queen Elizabeth National Park & the lakes and building campsites at the Rukoki and Kahendero School campuses.
Am also expecting the local community at some point to buy this lucrative Bamboo products which is on high demand as far as building leisure and hospitality places like resorts, safari lodges, recreational centers and people’s homesteads.
The forest too is going to serve many roles in supporting a wide biodiversity, snakes, rodents, aquatics, soil micro organisms and above all adding an inch on modifying the climate of Kasese area.
Attached are some of the pictures of the various bamboo plants thriving on the property.
