We the community of the Nyakiyumbu School takes this occasion to say hullo to you there and to say thanks a lot for every thing you do to us as Nyakiyumbu School and Nyakiyumbu Widows’ Association.
We wish to tell you that since we begun this first term to that date of 18th Feb 2017, we have so far received 33 patients with the following conditions which are indicated below:-
- Respiratory Tract Infections — 14
- Peptic Ulcer Disease — 6
- Diarrhea — 5
- Wounds — 4
- Malaria — 2
- Scabies — 1
- Ring Worms — 1
During the first two weeks of the term, we received the above number of diseases and RTI is leading and this could be brought by breathing the air with a lot of viruses and bacteria that make the patients cough and be attacked by flu.
Second to that is Peptic Ulcer Disease which is as a result of eating very little and therefore a big challenge to the children.
Thirdly, we have diarrhea which is said to have occurred by using contaminated water because of water scarcity in the area.
The next is wounds especially attacking children who do not put on shoes not that they do not want to put them on, but that they do not have them. Most of these children have wounds on their legs and their feet. These children are the majority who take almost 85% of the total number at the school and some of those who put them on, have very old ones.
I thank you once again for the generous heart that you have for us.
Thanks very much
I remain yours
