A shipment of AFRIpads has arrived at Garama Humanist Secondary School in Kisinga, Uganda. The AFRIpads were donated to the school girls by Dave and Carol Thompson of San Jose, California.
Garama is the newest of the eleven schools that have adopted BBI’s humanist principles. They are the only secondary school that we are partnered with. Garama is directed by MIWODIF, the Mitooma Women’s Dignity Foundation. There are 329 children at the school.
AFRIpads are washable sanitary pads that can be worn for a year, and only cost $5. They are extremely valuable to rural Ugandan girls, who often drop out of school and stay home when they hit puberty because they cannot afford sanitary pads.
Thank you Dave and Carol Thompson!
