Brighter Brains Institute (BBI) launched a “chicken campaign” one month ago, to provide the Buhanga-Thuligahuma Women’s Collective with a poultry business that could support a free lunch program at the local Mother Givers Humanist School.
The campaign gathered enough funds to purchase 266 chickens. ($2,600) This provides 7 chickens to each to the 38 women of the Buhanga Women’s collective—each woman will raise 7 by herself, with collected profits going to the school. The funds will also be spent on feed, vaccinations, feeding trays, drippers, and other supplies.
BBI thanks the following generous donors for their contributions: Dave & Carol Thompson, Christine Wagner, Michelle McEntire, Greg Burnett, Paul Schmidt, Ann Golub, Kennita Watson, Torfinn Nome, Beth Closkey, Brent Reitze, Alex Havasy, Davida LeComte, Darren Muise, and Brad Levin.
Thank you for helping us with this, and especially, that you for your kindness in providing food for the children of Buhanga.
